I was flipping channels yesterday and this awesomely bad 80's movie was on CBS. Jimmy is the rich kid from Jersey that wants to play for the NY Rockers soccer team. Mommy and Daddy oppose it of course , he doesn't make the team , terrible attitude and all that.The training sessions at Giants Stadium on the astro-turf are priceless.....the classic 80's synth music as the soundtrack....the coach is terribly mis-cast , he comes off like an American football coach trying to drill soccer players.

Doing what only a rich kid could do Jimmy flies to Brazil to learn from the master Santos, Pele plays that part of course.... the teaching here is more values than skill.

I actually watched the whole movie , one of those that is so bad it's hard to turn away from.





Oh , and it features a dread locked Mario Van Peeples playing the smart ass black guy he played in every 80's movie he was in.

Yeah, Mario Van Peebles was really typecast in black roles.

I didn't know Pele ever did gay porn.

Really, all you needed to get backing for an eighties movie was a tagline of "They've got nothing in common but..."
