metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Came across this todayTuesday, May 25, 2010Rockies - Signed KazColorado Rockies - Signed 2B Kaz Matsui to a minor-league contract.Last time Matsui joined the Colorado Rockies, he was only a year away from tricking Ed Wade into giving him $16 million. However, if Slow Eddie possesses the same unique GM talents that Steve Phillips has that non-GMs don't have, such as reading and talking on the phone, he may not be tricked a second time. Not much of a risk for the Rockies as the team's infield depth at Colorado Springs isn't really all that great. At second, Eric Young Jr's either been in the majors or out with a fractured tibia and organizational player Warren Schaeffer has been filling in at 2nd (normally a .560 OPS in the California league doesn't earn you a two-level jump) so they can really use the organizational depth. When double-checking if there was anyone I had forgotten about on the Sky Sox, I did come across one horror, Paul Lo Duca apparently playing 2 games at second and another couple at third. While Paulie Cashews did occasionally fill in at 3rd a long time ago, if your emergency infielder is an old washed-up catcher, you either be filming a reality TV show or at least trying to get blackmail photos returned that involve something to do with your anus and household objects. It's truehttp://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=loduca001pau
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 It's true about lo Duca, or the anus thing?
