Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Still holding out hope that their will indeed b e a roster shake up today. No media notes yet, so still a possibility. My initial guess was Carter for Cat. Although I could see them doing a Fernando Martinez youth movement promotion like they did last homestand with Ike.too innovative for them, but Pagan's an above average CF that can play every day. In the off chance you want to give him a day off, can we not deal with Bay or Frenchy there for one day every blue moon? It's not like it's foreign concept for them to field there. Release GMJ for someone that helps the bench more.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 I would love that, but you better be confident you have someone at AAA who can step in if/when Pagan goes down, because that's a lot of space for Bay, Franoeur, or Cora to cover more than nine innings per week. That may be be Pridie, Martinez, or Feliciano, but I don't know.

That's the same as now. Please don't tell me their plan would be to play GMJ full time...More of an issue would be if Pagan stubs his toe and would be out 3-4 days.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 I don't know what their plan would be, but I'm certain that if Pagan got hurt at the laundromat last night, Matthews would be the centerfielder today and getting the most reps there for the immediate future.

Like the next six games. But if GMJ went 3 for 21 in those six games, he'd be cut and Fartinez would be in CF every day, batting seventh.

Matthews and Catalanotto are not only getting outhit by various other outfielders up and down the system, but are putting up worse offensive rate stats-- both of them-- than Johan and Pelf, and are only barely outhitting the starting rotation.It-- at least that portion of it-- is broke.
