The Mets have 19 stolen bases, while being caught stealing only four times.

Met opponents have five stolen bases (all against Rod Barajas), while also being cuaght stealing four times (all by Blanco).

How about that?

I'll buy it.

I never realized EXACTLY how good Blanco was defensively until seeing him semi-regularly these past few weeks.

Not only that, but he's probably more tolerable at the plate, too. Barajas will hit more HRs, but has no sense of the strike zone as a hitter; Blanco at least has that.

Yup. And at least one of those four wasn't even trying to steal. He just wandered off the base too far and was gunned down unexpectedly.

Like a fly that makes the mistake of staying in one place a split second too long.
