Daily News says:

While the percentage of major-leaguers born outside the U.S. dipped slightly from last year, the Mets had the most foreign-born players for the fourth time in five years and had a record high of 18, including natives of Canada, the Dominican Republic, Japan, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico and Venezuela.

Puerto Rico's secession is news to me, but I guess there's some sense in counting them among foreign-bornies. With Beltran DL'd and Delgado gone, I guess Pedro Feliciano carries the Puerto Rican torch.

The Daily News really should use the Harvard comma.

Yes, it's old enough to have hair on it, but it's been long enough since I've heard it that I'll give it a BoP.

Also, as far as how to describe this one, I like the Ted Berg-via-White-Stripes coinage of "Seven Nation Army."

Angel Pagan is also from Puerto Rico.

Alex Cora, also. Tejada is Panamanian.

Also in the pipeline is West Germany (Tobi Stoner). There are three Canadians currently on the B-Mets.

We've got to be able to make ten here-- Valdes is Cuban, isn't he?
