TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 No Wright?I'd like to see a strong performance from Maine today.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Is it all right to boo management on Opening Day?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Jason Marquis starts for the Nats[/quote:2z3a1gut]With a 10.34 spring ERA. HOORAY, management!
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Mad props for the thread title.Oh , and if i read one more story that has Marquis "begging the Mets to sign him" I'll vomit.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Oh, I'll reserve the right to cheer them, as well (as when I see the HOF for the first time). We have a complex relationship, management and I... one which could probably use a safe word or two.And speaking of sadism... I would love to hear that MFY-loving Staten Islander begging for a place again, actually, as long as it's one he never gets.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 GOOD: Mike Jacobs likes job security. Or maybe Jason Marquis is just stupid enough to leave a fastball over the plate to a guy who really only hits fastballs.Either way, the the big honking 2-run fly for your starting first baseman, his third of the spring, gives the Flushings a 3-0 lead.BAD: John Maine flushes it with a Josh Willingham dong and a string of walks-and-hits over the next two. His final line: 4 2/3, 6 H 4 ER, 4 BB, 2K. But hey-- his spring ERA's just a run in back of Johan for third-best in the rotation!GOOD: Igarashi actually disappoints some inherited runners, setting down Adam Kennedy with two on and two out.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Several guys getting battered out of the pen (Igarashi in his second inning, Valdes, Parnell) leave the Mets down 9-4 in the middle of the eighth.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 4 innings of the Maine. 5 on his first start i'm guessing.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Maine apparently was vomiting b etween innings. What's the dealio with Igarashi? He gonna need that Luchador mask.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Maine apparently was vomiting b etween innings..[/quote:28jrc7mv]John no doubt is sick of hearing about Marquis too.
