Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Jerry remarks in the papers this morning that this guy -- a nonroster invitee who last pitched professionally for AA Bingo in 2007 -- could be the guy who frees up Feliciano to be more of a generalist/8th inning guy.I'd been wondering who he was for a while, wearing No. 96, and still getting innings along with the rest of the relievers. Turns out he's a Cuban who washed out of the Cubs org, went to the independent leagues, then to the Mets who later released him, but invited him back after seeing him in winter ball. Apparently he's on loan with a Mexican League team a la Ricardo Rincon; we'd likely stash him there if he doesn't make the cut. He's yet to give up a run in 4 appearances.
