Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Jose Reyes has been scratched from today's game. He said the initial physical raised a small concern with doctors, so he needed to do additional blood work this morning. His blood was still spinning when they first tested it.They're hoping it's calmed down by this point.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Young David Wright with an opposite-field homer!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 "While that's good news, it's still kind of hard to predict what he'll do this season." --- Josh Alper, NBC-New York
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Young David Wright with an opposite-field homer![/quote:1vregsay]Florida-swamp-gas mirage. Obviously.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 This tells me that he should concentrate on hitting to opposite field more often.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 That Hi-Dee-Hi-Dee-Hi-Dee-Ho song that they play over the PA system: That's not the Marx Brothers from Duck Soup, is it?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 20 million men have had the Viagra conversation with their doctor.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 That's Minnie The Moocher sung by Cab Calloway..[/quote:2gtyl0bf]Thanks. I had wondered that for a while. The Marxes sang something almost like that during their "The Country's Going to War" number near the end of Duck Soup, but it didn't sound quite like what the PA was playing. Now I can stop wondering!R.A. Dickey has given up four runs now and is still pitching in the third.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2010 Author Posted March 4, 2010 I'm not expecting much more from R.A. Dickey.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Dickey knocked out in the third. Unidentified Mets pitcher coming in to relieve him...
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 This commercial that MLB Network shows, where Peter Gammons is sitting there listing baseball players (Dustin Pedroia, CC Sabathia, Albert Pujols, Zack Greinke, Tim Lincecum, Adam Wainwright, Kirby Puckett, Johnny Bench, Joe DiMaggio...) reminds me of Bubba in Forrest Gump. If they're trying to make him look like a babbling fool, they're doing a good job.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 By the way, seven Met runs in the fifth and sixth greet the Calero news and the Metzies lead 11-6.Omir Santos is 2-2, batting 1.000 in his fight for survival. Ike Davis has walked in both of his plate appearances. In terrible news, Gary Matthews has thrown a runner out at second.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Sean Green, shaking with thoughts of Kiko taking his job, gives up four runs with an assist from an errant Ike Davis, who is not making this team. The Mets lead is down to 11-10.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Wow... Ike Davis just SMASHED a grand slam. It landed among the picnic tables behind the "grassy knoll."
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Well, then, maybe you should ignore my last post.
