Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 Somebody out there cruises the strip in this baby. I would have to stand and salute. I would not be able to restrain myself.Notice the conspicous absensce of the Domino's patch. As reported in the Uni Watch Blog, the guy started in 1984 by sewing the Mets insignia onto an unofficial Mets-colored varsity jacket, and claims the whole kit cost him about $100.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 I believe I saw this jacket in another forum a while back, and the owner of it mentioned he's still missing the New York City 75th anniversary patch, which appeared on Mets jackets (not uniforms) in 1973. MFY jackets, too.I admire that this bothered him.I think there was one more patch, beyond 30 Minutes or Your Pizza's Free, he said he was on the lookout for. Maybe it was the Japan one (AIU), but that seems to be in place now.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 He's missing the commemorative John McSherry 1996 patch, which was not really a patch but embroidery stitching. (The commemorative Bob Murphy and Tug McGraw's were also embroidered, as was the 9/11 two flags tribute. Just pre-empting any patch only ideas with this parenthetical.)

batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 He's also missing the Mr. Met sleeve patch the Mets wore on those not throwbacks that were supposed to be throwbacks when they played the Giants last year and Wright took one to the helmet.
