G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 The Mets and Nats will soon combine for a 194th loss. But, on the bright side, they'll also soon combine for a 121st win.MetionalsPagan LFCastillo 2BWright 3BBeltran CFMurphy 1BFrancoeur RFSchneider CValdez SSPelfrey PNatropolitansHarris CFDukes RFZimmerman 3BDunn 1BMorse LFOrr 2BDesmond SSNieves CMartin P
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Good to see The Schneid back there.(sarcasm detection device explodes)
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I read where Schneider wants to play every remaining game, he's got a shot you know of getting his average up tp .220 , as he says it sounds better than .217
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 Pelfrey needs BriSchnei's calming influence. It worked so well last week against Atlanta. One assumes Schneider will be given the start on Sunday in one of those "it was good knowing you" gestures. Usually, I'm all for that, unless Jay Bell is involved. Somehow this time I'm not.The 2009 Mets: Finding reasons to be peeved by hypothetical lineups.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Pelfrey is at that stage now where he can choose his catcher....
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Nationals have a magic number of 1 for clinching the #1 draft pick in next year's draft - although I'd just as soon they get it via a Pittsburgh loss.Historically no one ever had back-to-back years of #1 picks because they used to alternate which league started things off (I guess to cut in half the number of teams with an incentive to tank the season). They did away with the alternating league stuff only a few years back.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I can't believe we had the sacks loaded with no outs and a run already in and didn't tack anything on.Yeah I can.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 I was thinking "at least Schneider hit the ball hard," then I remembered an exchange with my mother when I was in eighth grade and my report card wasn't up to snuff."You got a B in English?" she asked in disgust and disbelief."It was a high B," I brilliantly said in my defense.Expletives, threats and maybe a flying object followed.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Either of those line-outs that inning could have broken the game open, although neither was particularly scorched. On the other hand we picked up a pair after the 2nd inning's lead-off double and Pelfrey's has had hisself two 10-pitch perfect innings so far.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Let me say the N-word now and get it out of the way: no-hitter.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I mean, c'mon ... it's laugh out loud funny to witness.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 See the problem is with the sacks drunk, we keep getting pulled over.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Hey, the Nationals dj is playing "Sweet Caroline." That's so clever and original a choice.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 See, you pull Wilson Valdez, and you PAY!
