Mets Genealogy (split from Jay Kleven)

So I've been able to find a lot of old newspaper clippings regarding the Visalia Mets. The most interesting one, I think, is of the Visalia Mets playing the Reno Silver Sox and a 17-year-old Dennis Eckersley, making his professional debut. I sent it to Grimm. If anyone else wants highlights of Mets players such as Jay Kleven, Ike Hampton, and Bruce Boisclair in their minor league days, I'd be happy to oblige.

Val , if you would be so kind , cold you do a trace for me . I believe I have a relative that came to the US from Tipperary in year 1851.... I'll PM you his details as I know them if you give the OK.[/quote:2qikahkv]

I'll be more than happy to help you out. Send away.[/quote:2qikahkv]

You're a nice guy Val, I was taking the piss though. I was going to have you look for Falmuth Kearney but knowing that you would I didn't want to waste your time.

thanks though.

Nice!

Remember the high school football games on WPIX with Marty Glickman & Aubrey Lewis? Classic[/quote:1zht3f9f]
IIRC they used to show New Rochelle playing their arch rival every Thanksgiving Day. It may have been Iona Prep.

Good work.

Lou followed the would-be career track of Adam Rubin, going from sportswriter to pro baseball executive. I think he was listed as the first front office hire the Mets ever made.

Hi all. Was doing some research today and found this message board. I looked over the previous messages about needing birthdates, etc... [/quote:6nvgir2n]

So is this research something we'd be interested in and possibly see sometime in the future or is this just an individual side project?
