bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Do Phillies fans do anything other than a) drink, wish they lived in NY and c) vote for the All-Star Game?http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090608&content_id=5206512&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlbRollins is hitting .222. I don't want to anger the Baseball Gods so I'll say that he's great and all that but he, thus far (OK Baseball Gods?), is not an All-Star. I dare say that Pedro Feliz shouldn't be receiving as many votes to be in 4th and that Shane ("I'm a jackass") Victorino shouldn't be in 6th place.I am well aware that the whole thing is stupid. From the Mets, Wright, Beltran, Johan and Frankie should be there.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 I assure you, they don't wish they lived in New York City. Most of them are way too provincial and probably never even consider setting foot in any of the five boroughs.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Wait for this headline in the Philly Inquirer:Cheap porn sites see declines as Phillies fans use computer time to stuff AS ballot box"Get game over with, we're losing money" webmasters sez.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 You're giving them credit for more smarts and sophistication than they have.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 The voting is silly as we all know , I seem to remember a Mets player making the team in the last few years with a terrible average , or at least something that made him undeserving of a spot. Wright, Beltran?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Just took 5 minutes out of the lunch break to vote 25 times... at least as much to spike Rollins-- go, HanRam-- as to pump up Beltran and Wright. (If Beltran had Upton and Dunn nipping at his heels instead, I might be a little less bothered... Soriano's barely getting on base 30 percent of the time, and has made more wind than DWright.)There's no way Cholly has the stones to keep out Johan and Frankie, is there?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 ="OlerudOwned"]Adrian Gonzalez getting a raw deal.True... but Pooholes is outslugging him, if you can believe it.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 I vote for the Mets, biased as it is, solely to see them represented. And it does help, when Fox announcers and the like are looking at stuff, they remember them for being on the All-Star team. Where I don't vote for the Mets, I peruse the standings and vote for whoever has the best chance at beating a Philly. Same goes on the AL side. I vote for whoever has a chance to beat out a Yankee.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Is it time for the ROY ballot already?
