Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Oooooh. I like this game, so far!
Guest Triple Dee Guests Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Shit, I've been posting on CPF for the last 1/2 hour and didn't even realize there was a game going on. Always need to adjust to the idea of having a game on at a normal hour. (It's just gone after 9pm here).

Piggiestomatoes Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 We need a game like this. Oh yeah, and more runs!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Jerry, for all his buntiness, almost never uses the squeeze, does he?
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 This is too long for the seventh inning stretch so it'll just stretch the whole seventh inning. Battalos de los Tamborines with some homage to Rush, Aerosmith and Zepat the end ...
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2009 Author Posted June 7, 2009 Nice 2-out tack-on run. This was beginning to look like one of last year's games (or last week's) where we score early and then try to sit on the lead for 2-1/2 hours. If it wasn't for Livan walking the ledge a bit in some of these innings this game would be much more of a nail-biter.

Trade an out for a base, but not for a run? Mrs. Manuel, what kind of values did you teach your son?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 And here's the other Jerry thing that angries up my crazies: up 6 runs playing lefty-righty matchups.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 I was gonna say the same thing, but laid off.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 You guys need to relax and do a quietly pensive analysis a la Jerry in apost game interview and get in touch with your inner chill. Or something.

I would HOPE ... that my relievers are ready no matter what the situation calls for. Heh-heh-heh. Next question...
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Mets win! It's a little bittersweet after last night, but it was a must win andit was won with no real bumps in the road so freakin' yay.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Also, nobody lost an eye, or developed sepsis in a deep hangnail, or anything.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Missed the CPFers but had a great time at Nats Park today. Enjoyed a Mets win, seats in the shade, cool brews and good company. All is well.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Back from attending all three games this weekend. To be honest, these were not the most scintillating games that I have ever attended but after going to "The Omir Santos Game", I'm not complaining. What I missed was the sense that we were at "Shea South." Not that there weren't a lot of Mets fans, but the only game that was close was Friday's and there were only about 10,000 fans in attendance and even fewer by the time the Mets took the lead in the 10th. I love it when the place sounds like we're in the majority and it makes the sleepy Nats fans wake up and boo. That didn't happen this weekend.
