Guest sharpie Guests Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Lately I've been running across boxes of videotapes that people leave out on the streets as they dump their VCRs. Since I have a perfectly servicable VCR I sometimes take these street tapes home. One of them I picked up recently was Donnie Brasco which we watched the other night. I'd seen it on tape about a year after it came out but didn't really remember too much about it. We all dug the movie a lot -- really well written with a knockout performance by Pacino.
Guest The Second Spitter Guests Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 It's been a while since I've seen it. As I recall it was pretty faithful to book (and real events). Pistone was seriously up himself and Depp made the character more likable than he came across in the book. It's a solid flick that falls just short of a mob classic.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 I just took like 50 VHS tapes to the Goodwill yesterday. Amongst the movies, I found 5 tapes that made up the 2000 WS, another with the Grand Slam Single game, and the last one was the original Jackie Robinson game @ Shea in like '98 or whenever.I popped in Game 1 of the WS for some reason and my VCR immediately ate it and I threw them all out.Never saw Donnie Brasco.
