]On March 30, 1995, she issued the preliminary injunction against Major League Baseball, preventing MLB from unilaterally implementing a new Collective Bargaining Agreement and using replacement players, thus ending the 1994 baseball strike. In another high-profile case, she issued an order allowing the Wall Street Journal to publish Vince Foster's suicide note.

I knew, when I heard the name, she had a baseball connection. Yay.

Of course, she's a YLDB. Boo.

She grew up in a project in the Bronx.
Now she's nominated for the Supreme Court.
I'll give her a bye on any Yankee leanings.

She grew up in a housing project in the Bronx. Bronx natives, I suppose, are allowed to be MFY fans. Her ending the baseball strike/lockout trumps that for me.

Before all of this started she was probably the only sitting judge I could name who wasn't on the SC.

I always gave Judge Sotomayor major credit for ending the strike of '95, but by doing so she allowed the MFYs to kick off that stretch of thirteen consecutive playoff appearances encompassing that annoying dynasty. The players might have been doing us a favor striking in '94, rendering the MFYs' stay in first place moot.

I suppose there are other legal issues to be considered when choosing a Supreme Court justice, but MFYLD-baggery is troubling in the eyes of the law.
