MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 That might get a mild reaction from the Wilpons, and a chuckle from the fans. How about:I'm calling It the Polo GroundsTake THAT Fred. I rooted for Brooklyn, but enough is enough alteady.Later
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Then I think you're missing the point.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 No, I got theirs.I'm making my own point about the relative lack of tributes to the OTHER team that used to play in New York. Fred's gone overboard in one direction. I realize he used to root for that team. So did I. But there should be some balance. This might be my first post about my thoughts of the new place and your post evoked the feelings I had been thinking about.Later
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 But this really has nothing to do with any other teams , or Fred for that matter.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Put me down for 'Shea is gone. I remember it fondly, and now I'm going to move on.'
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I'm calling it Shea out of habit but not intent. Too long for a t-shirt.Shea was Shea. This is this. Let it grow into its own self. Could use a better name, but I'll go with the one above the front door until its repossessed.
