metirish Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Excellent , it's like a time machine, about 2:30 in you see guys scaling the Shea walls getting in for free.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 What masks were those two guys wearing around the 5:20 mark?Guy wearing the pink pants pushing the pickup is hilarious.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I'm right up to the part where Murph says, "Our very special guest is Bill Monboquette, and we'll get's Bill's apprasial of his staff."And I'm thinking, "Well, Bob. I've got Randy Jones starting on opening day. You do the math."
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Now me done. That was glorious. I wanted to hit a button and make time stop. Even when Bob Bailor bunted Mookie over.Did you see me? I was helping push the monkeyshit brown pickup out of the muck at 8:30. You may recognize my pants.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I actually thought of those infamous pants when I saw the guy , that wasn't you though, right?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I may well have been there --- I was at two or three opening days in the early 80s, I'm not sure which --- but I don't recall digging out a pickup and I didn't buy the pants until 2001ish.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Excellent.Guy taking a leak at 8:19.
Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Good god, that was amazing. I love the music playing as the pickup's pushed out of the mud. And what's with that pickup truck, by the way? It's like the Grand Central took a detour through the Florida panhandle or something. How big do you think that camera was?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Usually to see great camera work like that you have to find such titles as; 'My nephew's bar mitzvah', or; 'Uncle Harry's Drunk Again'On the other hand the camera was probably the size of a small suitcase.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Stadium looked really beige. Post-tile, pre-bluebird, I guess. Not too many pictures I've seen of it like that.Nice to hear a Lets GO Mets w/out the "OOH!" at the end. Mookie came through, too.Love the Jordache ad. Guy takin' a piss killed me, too.Just awesome. Great find.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Great find. Thanks for sharing.
