Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 ...about KC's avatar, with the cup dumped in front of the ticket booth that way.It puts me in mind of a freezing morning on line when the single gamies go on sale. In this day of electronic transactions, it's so cool and old skl and Met-fan-like to be wasting good time lining up and sucking Dunkin. Others may open the single-game ticket period by getting some agent to gobble up ticks on your behalf for a usurous fee that they're all too willign to pay to keep from having to deal with inconveniences like "other people" and "hypothermia." But not you. Not you stalwarts to whom this statue is dedicated. And even if you truly are a hoity toity slurping Starbucks every other day of the week, that morning once a year was all about DD.The fact is that a 12-foot overturned cup is like a memorial to all those suckers and those sucker mornings lining up with freezing (but not frozen) hope for a season that will ultimately end in overcaffienated heartbreak, and maybe a chance to shake hands with some all-too-human semi-hero who broke your same heart 20 years before. It's poignant as hell is what it is.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 We should chip in, buy the cup and the booth, and install it in the plaza of CPF Headquarters.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 You ain't joking.I'll put down $200.
