Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 What day do you think the Yankees will be eliminated? Winner gets a box of cookies.I'll take September 17.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 I'll go with the O's on the 19th.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 I say they do it on September 21. Last home game of the season for the MFYs, National TV audience, etc.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I just hope it's before that final game at Yankee Stadium. I don't want that ballpark to have an ounce of hope in it.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Cruel, but I like it. I'll go the 23rd.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I really feel like the Dark Empire will crash and burn on the 18th (or 17th), but since those dates are already taken I will choose another. I think the Yankees shall meet their official demise on Monday, Sept. 22nd. However, with their upcoming series' being against the Rays and White Sox, I doubt they can truly hold off the inevitable nearly that long. At least I hope not.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Does Girardi live to open the season next year?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I think so.If they're in third place on May 1, though, all bets are off.

Hank has been blowing the guy all year long. And that's great, cuz I don't get the impression Girardi's had a good year. He's clearly uncomfortable when under fire from reporters, and obviously hasn't gotten though to the Yankees' young players like Cabrera and Cano. About the only good things to happen under him are better-than-expected years from Mussina and Damon.
