Guest AG/DC Guests Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Gameday has Murphy batting righthanded.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Beltran needs to get a hit right here.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Delgado needs to get a hit right here.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 In comes Sean Burnett and the weird step-over delivery.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 They have to be going to a lefty specalist
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Not what we needed. Pissing this game away.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 Are any of our relievers actually capable of pitching a full inning?Or is it that Jerry is just unwilling to let them do so?
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Ugh. Multiple ugh.Good defense by Sanchez, at very least.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 "Are any of our relievers actually capable of pitching a full inning?" You ain't kidding. When I saw the B-Mets last night and one reliever pitched the entire 7th and 8th AND held a one run lead, it was stunning.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Hawkeye up with the bases loaded. Burns in Post-Op
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Jerry apparently likes to use ALL the bullpen.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Duaner Sanchez sucks.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 I suppose it's hard to complain after a 6-game win streak. But this sucks. This game should have been won.
Guest holychicken Guests Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Ugh. Why does our BP have to suck so much?
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 I bet the asshole who crashed into Duaner's cab is living it up somewhere right now, too.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 Here's what sticks in my craw right now:1. When Jerry brought Schoeneweis into the game, he didn't double-switch. Even though the pitcher's spot was due up in the order next. And we're still carrying 3 catchers, so he could've easily lifted Castro from the game without much consequence.2. Yet then, after removing Schoeneweis from the game (after Scott pitched well), he puts Feliciano (another lefty!) in as the next pitcher. Why couldn't Schoeneweis have stayed in the game?---The reason this bugs me is that I am convinced that part of the bullpen problems is that he is simply having everybody get up and into the games too frequently. It's ok -- really, I swear -- to have a pitcher go a whole inning.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 I lost track of the innings and thought it was the 9th already.Although it might as well be
Guest KC Guests Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 I know what you mean, but Jerry got ejected in like the 2nd or 3rd inning.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 True. In that case, I'm angry because he set a bad example for Sandy Alomar to follow.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Five runs in three innings for the bully. Terrible. Was the new guy even there yet. Omar needs to make about three more moves.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 What will Easley do now that there's nobody on base for him to erase also?

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 I would've liked to have seen Reyes hit here instead of Cancel.
