Murphy appears ready to be a big leaguer.

I'm not quite ready to write him off yet. My guess is that he won't be a regular starting infielder, but he might be a decent 2B/SS bench player.

I don't know if it will happen, but I'd like to see Murphy get some time at second base this year. I'd love him to take over the position next year, if he's up to it.

Yeah, I mean this is easy to say when he's batting .500 but of all the players we've gotten a glimpse of, Murphy at least looks like he knows what he's doing up there. Very good hands/wrists with the stick, knows how to work a count, etc.

I like Murphy! Curious to see if he can keep it going once the teams have a better look at him.

Evans says "Take that, 'Poolers! I belong!"

N.E. to J.C.L.: an R.B.I. F.U.

Evans had some pretty good slugging numbers in the minors but his swing up here looks almost defensive, like he's so concerned about making contact that he's willing to settle for opp field bingles. Even his 3-double debut had more well-placed hits than anything really roped.

Well, that's what I'm saying. He's tentative, as his throw on the pickoff demonstrated, like he's not ready. I didn't say he sucked, or would always suck, or was incapable of hitting a single off the shitty Padres pitcher, or anything.

Would have been nice to give Johan some breathing room there. The six Ks and 2 walks make me think he's not throwing too many pitches and can go deep.

66 pitches through 4. A little on the high side.

Yikes, that is high. Hopefully he can keep it going.

Murphy, on the other hand, displays body language like he's perfectly comfortable at the MLB level

Most players do.

Castro's been swapped for Cancel.
Guess the ankle isn't completely ready.
