Guest themetfairy Guests Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Gary Cohen reports that John Maine's MRI reveals a mild strain of the right rotator cuff. They're emphasizing that it's minor, FWIW.
willpie Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 I read somewhere back in spring training or something (very specific source, I know) that "strain" is MLB euphemism for "tear." IIRC, this was specifically in a hamstring context. I can't decide whether I'm terrified or if I just don't have a point here.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Well, they say he'll miss one start but with two off days in the coming week or so they won't have to replace him in the rotation.I guess Omar could be holding his cards close to his vest in case he's trying to get a starter before the deadline and doesn't want to be held up.Sort of like dealing for Roberto Hernandez before news of Duaner's injury leaked....?
