Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Ollie Perez vs Scott OlsenBP chimes in on Olsen:Tonight's starter for the Marlins has passed Perez heading in the opposite direction. Olsen had a 2.40 RA after his first seven starts of the season, thanks primarily to a .187 batting average against. But in his 14 starts since, Olsen's RA is 6.28, as opponents have hit .282 against him over 81 2/3 innings ... Olsen is simply allowing too many balls in play this season to be a front-of-the-rotation starter, especially since he pitches in front of a sub-par Marlins defense: his 4.6 K/9 is the fifth-lowest amongst NL qualifiers. They didn't mention that he's also an ass.ReyesEvansWrightDelgadoBeltranTatisEasleyCastroPerez
Guest Mendoza Line Guests Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 ...and Reyes gets nailed trying to stretch a double. A perfectly reasonable attempt - took a good throw to get him. Costs the good guys a run as Evans knocks one off the wall to pretty much the same spot.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 It wasn't reasonable. With nobody out, he should have stayed at second.

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Olsen is sweating to a degree that I've never seen from a professional athlete. It's literally pouring off of him!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 That's nice to see, two-out RBI single
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 The soft drink or the illegal drug?Beltran's 2-out single gives the Mets a 2-1 lead in the 6th.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 The Mets fail to capitalize on having the bases loaded and settle for the 2-1 lead. What happened to Jerry's tack on the runs policy?

Guest holychicken Guests Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Ugh, bullpen (Heilman) comes in and walks the 8 hitter to start. Great.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2008 Author Posted July 29, 2008 NOt that Aaron doesn't deserve a bag of shit for walking two of his first three hitters (particularly the first one) but DANG he isn't getting any calls!!
