Guest AG/DC Guests Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 I went to make a new donation to Baby Miranda's page at the Starlight Starbright Foundation, in thanksgiving for the safe delivery of her sister Stella. I came to think that it might be a good idea to revisit the page and pass the hat every time a new child or grandchild is announced --- or maybe, in Lorcan McIrish's case, when lifesaving surgery is performed. Miranda's page made $2700 on a $500 goal. That was, you know, awesome. If we, we can all throw in $5 or $10 or $1,000 every time a new announcement comes, and make a few hunnert every baby, we can someday see the total shoot to $5000 or even $10000.It could outlive us (which is part of the idea of fundraising), and Miranda can continue to grow up, in a way.So, I encourage you all to participate and share the joy of a safe arrival, and we can revisit this as our broods grow. And, not to leave anybody out, if you've had a child or grandchild arrive during your membership and participation in this forum, I pledge to make donation when their next birthday rolls around, perhaps grandfathering in some grandfathers.

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Perhaps an administrator would consider moving this thread to the Permanent Links forum. I had a hard time locating it.
