Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Carlos Beltran, career K rate: 16.5%Carlos Beltran, 2008 2 outs, RISP K rate: 15.7%It just feels much worse, I guess.Nice frame by Johan.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 ="Vince Coleman Firecracker"]="Zvon"]YES!Happ walks in a run.And Happ gets the hook! And Happ gets a... standing O? Really?I think that was mighty nice of the Phils phans, who are not known for their niceyness. And the kids folks were sitting right there so that really was nice they gave it up for the kid. What did it hurt to do that?Tip a the cap to the Phils phans.
Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Sadly, the Phanatic was not killed by lightning as he assisted Ben Franklin in a thunderstorm.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Zvon--you didn't make that in four minutes, did you?1000+ posts. I am humbled.
Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Hmm, that ball by Werth seemed playable.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 ="bmfc1"]="Zvon"]Thats interesting.Does Canada celebrate an independence day and if so when is it?Canada Day is on 7/1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada_DayThere's no blue on those Blue Jay caps, probably because there's no blue on the Canadian flag. Even though there's blue on a blue jay. And blue is the main Blue Jay uni color. The Blue Jays wear special uniforms on Canada Day featuring red as the primary and dominant color.

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Zvon is THAT good!Santana not as good - tie game
Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Not a great inning for Aguila in left. He double clutched on that throw and still sent it way up the first base line.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Phils get one back on a Howard RBI single.AND THEY TIE IT ON A BURRELL RIBINGLE!GAH!Both with 2 out.Lets get out of it now!
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 The other night the Missus started a song. She called me in and asked me to finish it. But baby, I thought, the Mets-Yankees are on.But creativity comes first, and we wrote a really nice song. I wiped my brow, turned the internet back on, and found that the Yankees had destroyed the Mets. Now I just went into the living room to do our annual duet of Dave Alvin/X's "Fourth of July.We sang beautifully (I'm serious), but it was 2-0 when I went in, and 2-2 when I came back. The message would seem to be that the Mets hate music. But that's crazy. What's makes more sense is that they hate my music.

Guest AG/DC Guests Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Santana's got a cut like Beltran.Too bad he's batting .139.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Endy gets the first hit in 4 innings - but Castro's 4th inning 2B is still the last ball we hit out of the infield.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Chavez leads off the 8th with an infield single.I thought Harry said "Rollins slid and stumbled on the damn grass".He said "damp grass".
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Beltran and Delgado strand Chavez at 2nd.Not good.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 This'll most likely be Santana's last inning (due up 4th in top 9) so he better make it a good one.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Looks like when Santana serves up that change the Phils are consciously slowing down their swing to try and stay back on it.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Charlie Manual going with his closer in the ninth of a tie game. Note it.Yes, I know it's at home.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Still nothing out of the infield since there were no outs in the 4th.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Frayed Knot wrote:Batting for Castro?Surprising to me, cuz when I checked the three batters for the inning I had visions of Castro KaBOOMin one.Eww, that was one sorry half of the 9th. Sanchez to pitch the 9th.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 These games are tough to win on the road.Once you don't score in the top half of the inning you know you have to: Hold them - score - then hold them again. If you're at home all you have to do is score. It's mentally draining.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 And we are having Sanchez bat 9th and leading off next inning? Not Schneider?
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Good K of Howard.I kind of grow tired of his holding his hand up to the ump for thirty seconds while he stands like a statue. Then he calls time every third pitch. Quick pitch that shit.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Good K of Burrell.I kind of grow tired of his... well, his beating the shit out of my favorite team.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Zvon wrote:And we are having Sanchez bat 9th and leading off next inning? Not Schneider?I assume Schneider is hitting 9th (ergo: leadoff) and the pitcher in the 8-slot, but no one has said.
