Guest AG/DC Guests Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 http://www.baseball-almanac.com/players/pics/luis_aguayo_autograph.jpgAlso reported is that Luis Aguayo, long-time futility infielder for the Phils, is joining the Mets staff. They don't say in which capacity, but I'll guess that first base looks wide open. Luis was listed as the Mets "field coordinator," though I don't quite know what that means.Wikipedia shows Luis a beneficiary of two of Richie Ashburn's finer descriptions."Luis Aguayo is on deck. Aguayo hasn't exactly been reminding anybody of Rogers Hornsby lately." --Richie Ashburn "Aguayo's running at first base. He doesn't have great speed ... what am I saying? he doesn't have good speed, he doesn't even have average speed. The man is slow." --Richie Ashburn
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I think they should have Aguayo coach third base and move Alomar to first.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Somewere on the Internet it was said he was to be the new bench coach. But who knows.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I would imagine that the bench coach will be Oberkfell. All will be made clear (maybe!) at 5 p.m.
