nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Anyone else notice that in almost 200 plate appearences against righties this year Wright is hitting only .231/.328/.426?He's making up for it by clubbing lefties at .435/ .532 /.742, but when will he come around against the righties?
Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Yeah, not worried. For his career, in 1912 PA's against RHP, he's .299/.376/.513. This year, in 195 PA's, he has a .240 BABIP against righties; which is 9% below his career norm.I can't find LD% platoon splits for him, since I am incredibly lazy, but I assume his 23% line drive rate this year hasn't come exclusively against lefties. His BABIP will rise, and with it, his slash numbers. Also, even with a slow (or unlucky) start against RHP, he's got a 137 OPS+. Hot damn, this guy is good.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2008 Author Posted June 6, 2008 yes, he is so good against lefties right now that they might be justified in just walking him
