Day Baseball Too Confusing For D.C.?

No weekday afternoon games at Nationals Park because the potential for neighborhood congestion is intimidating, apparently. Hey Washingtonians, are they really this easily confused?

I hear there's an area of Chicago that gets pretty busy during the day and they still manage to have games and stuff.

Nationals management was concerned, perhaps overly concerned, about the impact that the new stadium would have on DC traffic. There was also a big concern about parking. As a result, they only scheduled one weekday afternoon game and it began at 4. The way things have turned out, parking isn't as bad as thought. Also, many people are taking the train, so the traffic impact isn't too bad. As a result... they exclusively have night games during the week (other than holidays and that one game which has been played). I work two train stops from the new place and several people have said that we should take off from work for a few hours (we'll use vacation time, folks--we're not screwing the taxpayers!) and see a day game and I say that it's a nice idea, but....

Washingtonians drive like maniacs. People from NoVA drive like homicidal maniacs. I wouldn't want to be close to any place where these folks are driving en masse either.

Plus the "No Left Turn" restrictions near the stadium that force unsuspecting drivers to go huge distances from the stadium are not fun near rush hour (of this I speak from experience).
