Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 It became fashionable a while back for teams to pursue long-term deals even in the pre-arbitration years to those players had shown a good start to their careers.Well Tampa Bay has decided to lock up one of their recent top draft picks - 3B Evan Longoria - to a 6-year deal with options for several more after playing just 6 days in the majorsNice work if you can get it
Guest Triple Dee Guests Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 I'm happy to see the Rays showing ambition (albeit in a extreme way), and with a new ballpark coming soon, it means they won't be trading Kazmir anytime soon. Can you think of anything worse than seeing Kazmir wearing MFY pinstripes?
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Perhaps they're desperate housewives?
Guest Grote15 Guests Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Nice to see the Rays step up...Lotta those style contracts out Wright..Reyes..Sizemore..Cano, Mauer..etc.The MFY's look like 1989..maybe Evan, B.J. Upton, Shields, Kazmir, etc can win the East while were alive
