Guest Mendoza Line Guests Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 As noted in the non-baseball forum, I missed ABNS's charity exchange. So, instead, here's a trivia question:Name the only player (other than Ripken himself) who was an active American Leaguer during the full length of Cal Ripken's consecutive game streak (time on the DL counts as active - point is that he was an active player rather than a coach, manager, batboy, mascot, etc. during the streak).I'll donate $20 to the charity of the choice of the person who posts the first correct answer.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Julio Franco....does the Mexican League count?
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Baseball Reference has both Molitor and Baines as correct.
Guest Mendoza Line Guests Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 I had understood the only answer to be Paul Molitor, but I checked bbref and, as HahnSolo notes, it looks like Harold Baines is equally correct.Baines actually played two games with the Bowie Baysox in 1993, so I thought that might have disqualified him, but Molitor also played in the minors on a rehab assignment in 1998.I'll call it a tie - Edgy and Gwreck, name your charities.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Thanks. You can split the offer, and send ten bucks to Housing First.
