RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 The United Countries of Baseball shows fan territories for all 30 MLB teams. If you count the fact that much of the Mets area is disputed, we probably have the smallest territory.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 All the territory we need is [/pointing at our hearts] right here.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Personally, I have very little faith in the accuracy of that map. I would dispute both the size and distribution the proposed "countries" in many cases.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 The Marlins' territory is wherever their fan happens to be that day.Later

Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 I would dispute the Nationals' territory. I really don't think they have any pull in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I think that's more Braves territory. I'm guessing Nike was just feeling sorry for them.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Small in size, but probably bigger than most in population.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 When I was in the outer banks in October the coverage was of the Nats, not the Braves.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Huh. Interesting. Never would have guessed.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 That's got to be tongue in cheek. For one thing, there are more Mets and Yankees fans in South Florida than there are Marlins fans. And half of Arizona roots for the Cubs. And there are more Rangers fans in South Texas than Astros fans? The Cardinals fan base is huge, a holdover from the days when they were the western most team and KMOX carried their games all over the Midwest.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 I'm guessing the Marlins' sphere of influence is wildly overstated. Tealahassee? I don't think so.

Guest SI Metman Guests Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 quick, put a team in Vegas to plug up that hole in the west.

RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2007 Author Posted November 18, 2007 The page is polling visitors to list zip code and team. Not the most scientific, but probably better than observation.
