Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Normally - unless I have an intense rooting interest - I root for long series simply for the enjoyment/intrigue factor. Instead, we already have 2 sweeps and the Sox just put up a 7-spot in the 8th and have 9-zip lead with 6 (now 5) outs to go. AND, the only remaining series is the one where I've been desperately hoping for a sweep all along. What suxx is that it seems unnatural and momentum-sapping for baseball to have long gaps where nothing will be going on and, between the sweeps and the new format where extra days have been built into the early rounds, that's exactly what it looks like we're going to get.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Yep.I don't like sweeps (unless of course the Mets were doing the sweeping) in the post season because when all is said and done it will result in less baseball games to view before this season is over.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Love that the Phillies got swept. Hope the Yankees share the same fate.
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Now that everyone got swept it would really suck if the Yankees drag thisthing on. I could use a few days off from baseball and them losing tonightwould be the way for me to get it because I will keep watching - I can't help it.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 And I thought these looked like four really competitive series on paper. I guess not. On the other hand, while I'd prefer not to be living vicariously through the Rockies and the Indians, I can't say I'm not enjoying how things have gone so far.
Guest holychicken Guests Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 This thread jinxed it, you bastards!
