Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Green rips a hard liner to deep right centerfield. DeRosa takes a bad angle on a ball that probably could have been caught and the Mets get Delgado home.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 We're getting a coupla breaks here:- I think Milledge was going to be out if Pagan handles that Glavine single- Soriano likely would have been safe at 3rd (although 'twas a nice throw by Milledge as it turned out)- and then the replacement chain that went into effect after the Soriano injury put an infielder in RF and got Green his double.... but we're also taking advantage of them (which is never a given) and forcing the issue in a couple of cases with agressive baserunning (Milledge's steal, Castillo's tag) so yay for us.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Author Posted August 5, 2007 Nice double down the line to start the 6th for Milledge. 2 hits, and a walk. Nice.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 ]In a situation like that, for a relatively inexperienced rook to take that upon himself,in a spot like that, in a game like this, disturbs me. The way Willie was talking about it he gave the red light but Milledge (or maybe Rickey) saw something and took advantage. The Cubs were probably so sure that he wasn't going either that they scarcely gave him a glance.I suspect that's one of those things where you're allowed to go if you pick up on something despite the red light, but there'd be hell to pay if/when you don't make it.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 I thought Green's hard ground ball through the box was headed for centerfield for 2 more Mets runs. Theriot must have been shading him up the middle.
