metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Seems that Willie is giving Valentin a good look.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Hello? Is this thing on??- 2-0 pods in the third...
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 'nother stolen base for JVal-- looks like his legs are feeling better...
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I'm tuning in, and therefore let this rally happen now.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I suspect many of the NY regular posters have been delayed on their trek home by the massive subway disruption caused by the steam explosion. Or they just decided it wasn't worth staying up past midnight three days in a row.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Where's ZVON with his "unite...assemble" mojo when we need it?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Holy Schneike, Maddux gone after 5 !!
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Yes, but the SD pen has been lights out this season- not sure this is catching a break at all.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I wonder if Cla Merideth ever caught the guy who stole his 'Y' from him?
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I love how Gary Cohen continually disses Maddux for bailing early in games.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Remember when we used to score runs. That was always pretty cool.Grumble.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I can't see how San Diego pulling Maddux isn't a good thing. Especially since Heath Bell is due for a pounding.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 If there's a player in the world named Kouzmanoff, he should be a Met.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 In promoting the upcoming Day/Night doubleheader at Shea, Gary said he understood there was one there in 1972. Sure enough, b-r lists a doubleheader against the Dodgers on May 11, a Thursday (the day we got Willie Mays), with two separate attendance figures. I have no recollection of this.Anybody?

I'm tired of wound-licking self-abusing Met fans basically cheering for a guy for whom it's not enough to pitch well and show up the trade but to spell out all manner of pre-trade abuses and excuses to anyone with tape recorder. FU Heath Bell! It's time someone pounded the message of baseball being a humbling game into that precious ERA of yours already.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I like your style Dickshot....Delgado with a fucking home run.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Ka-freakin-blam.Warm him up, Bud Blackheart. I dare ya.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Great effort by Cameron.....Black goes to the pen....
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 The reinforcements are here just in time for the comeback.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Nice timing by Mike Cameron.Really nice. Not nice enough. The San Diego announcer just knocked the head off of a David Wright dummy in the booth.Bell time.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Well here he comes. Mister I-Sucked-But-It's-Your-Fault. Heath "Tearduct" Bell.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 He looks gassed, Bud. Better get him another box of donuts between innings.
Batty31 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I guess Willie is waving the white flag...
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Darling told a great story about Doug Sisk, over the off-season Sisk gained quite a bit of weight and was not able to lose it all in spring training, and on opening day when he was introduced to the fans at Shea to a chorus of boos two snickers fell out of his pockets while running onto the field.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Nice showing by Blow-enweiss there. Really.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I'll take Schoeneweis here.Announcers are remarking on Schoeneweis bearing a facial resemblence to Roger Clemens.I'm squinting a lot, and seeing nothing.
