metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Mets have some of the best ever and this fella(who ever he is) rates wagner as the best...Billy wagnerRob Neyer had this to say.]• Baseball Crank rates the greatest left-handed relievers and comes up with Billy Wagner as No. 1 all-time. I'm not saying he's wrong (though I'd prefer somebody with more innings). But isn't rating left-handed relievers a little like rating left-footed punters? Or tone-deaf point guards?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 That's a little willfully ignorant by Neyer. Obviously, the main point of setting these guys into different sub-groups is to create more lists to talk about. But unlike his examples, lefthanded relievers are different in ways that matter to the game. His methodology is a little wacky.
