A lot of people are Googling "Mercury Mets" today and it's leading to a bunch of hits for Kris Benson.

I'd say that was a pretty good ranking, but of the three sites that came before the UMDB page, two of them are from other CPF members! "Faith and Fear" came in second place, and Michigan guy came in third.

Here's what I'm wondering, though:

What's happening on Mercury today that so many people are Googling the Mercury Mets?

The 'Mercury Mets' - and the other alt-uni promotions that about 2/3 of the teams participate in that same night - was easily the dumbest and most pointless gimmick I've ever seen.
I had no idea what they were trying to do there.

I was at the Mercury Mets game and those were probably the worst uniforms ever. I will never forget, however, the pictures of the payers they put on the diamond vision. Ricky Henderson as Yoda. Anyone got a picture of that?

I'm back in town and just catching up. In fact, I Do own a Mercury Mets jersey -- and the cap, too

It's just so freakishly ugly that it's almost cool.

Some of the jerseys worn that day were pretty neat, like the ones worn by the Pirates and the Diamondbacks.

But the Mets version.....what where they thinking?

Eight years later, I've still never seen what the Mercury Mets uniform looks like. In fact, I just saw the cap for the first time the other day (I think it was on Faith and Fear where I saw it.)

I was at that Mercury Mets game too.

Was actually excited about going. I liked the idea of the whole 'futuristic uniform' thing. Was hoping that they'd be Jetsonian but when I saw them I got douche-chills.

Well, I collect all things Mets and my basement is sort of a frightening shrine. I have a number of Mets jerseys. And then I saw the Mercury Mets jersy on eBay I pounded. It was pretty cheap, only around $30 or so. It's not game-worn or anything. I found the cap on Starstruck.com.

I can't say I've ever work in outside the house, or even long inside for that matter. It's just one of those fun things to have in a collection.

I was at that Mercury Mets game also.
The worst part was that the photos they put up on the Diamond-Vision not only had them in MM uniforms but they morphed the player's face into some sort of futuristic creature like he was a Star Trek villian or something.
