Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 You don't think of Bobby Jones' Met career as being that long. Glad to see Jack Fisher remembered.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2007 Author Posted July 15, 2007 It's funny that only 13 guys have pitched more innings than Glavine has, and people are still debating whether or not he's a "Met."

Of course he's a Met, but aside from Mets fans, I don't think many people (including the Hall of Fame Plaque Committee) will remember him as such.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2007 Author Posted September 24, 2007 There's a lot more important stuff going on, but I'm glad that Moises Alou removed the ambiguity around the club hitting streak record. (Hubie and Piazza holding the "single-season" record and Wright with the "multi-season" record.)Of course, if Moises gets hits in each of the next seven games, and another on Opening Day next year, then the ambiguity is back. (Sort of.)
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 David Wright is the first player in Mets history to have 3 seasons of 40 doubles or more. He's also the first player in Mets history to have 3 consecutive seasons of 40 doubles or more.
