Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Mets v BravesMets going with a parade a relievers - in order to make final cuts presumably.Adkins gets the first chance to play his way out of a job and is succeeding quite nicely so far: coughing up 5 runs in the 1st
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Culprit was grand salami from Francoeur. We got 2 back in our half and might have had more were it not for Alou GIDPing with bases loaded 0 out.Adkins had a spotless 2nd inning, so things are looking up.(actually he didn't -- single & walk, aided by a CS and DP). Goodbye, Jon.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Park with a 1-2-3 inning against the middle of the Braves lineup. Pena (goundout to second), Andruuuuw (K looking), Clark (groundout to first).Nice to see. He was dominant in relief for Korea during the WBC, and I think he could really solidify our pen.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 I've kinda been rooting for Park too, just knowing that he's destined to become a target of abuse when all he wants is to keep his career alive.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Who are Pena and Clark and will they be in the middle of the Braves lineup all season...they are not even listed on the Braves 40 man roster.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2007 Author Posted March 28, 2007 Pena is Tony Jr. - son of the Pirate/Cardinal catcher (and now NYY coack) and older brother of the young catcher the Mets signed last year. Tony Jr. is an infielder. He played briefly last year and will be on the team this season but probably not start. Not sure who 'Clark' is
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Thanks FK..Clark is one Doug Clark,11 career AB's with the Giants and Oakland between 05/06.Drafted by the Giants in the seventh round in 1998.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2007 Author Posted March 28, 2007 2 IPs, 1 run on 2 hits for ParkBurgos's turn now
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Two more steals so far for Reyes. Bite me, Crawford.Grinding this game out would be a nice little test.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Burgos gives us two scoreless and three strikeouts, the type of performance we got him for. He exits with the same 7.04 ERA as Park.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Let's beat up on Tyler Yates for not wearing 50 as a Met.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 It's 8-3 at the end of eight.Fangrasistic umbertuck!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Shot down in order in the ninth.Willie Randolph has his work cut out for him.
