Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Anyone got Webb's cell phone number? All the mics are working exceptKeith and Gary's.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Yeah it's hard to hear them,I have the TV up loud but then when it goes to break it blows my ears off, drama at Tradition field,Willie pulls Park after three perfect innings and Park is not happy...Willie will address the situation after the game Buckhart said.....
Guest iramets Guests Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 27 pitches and out while fighting for a job. I'd be pissed too.Of course, if Willie's going to say, Park makes the team, then he's got no complaint...OTOH, if Willie says "I decided to cut him, anyway", that's another matter.
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Freakin' annoying, the ball loudly pops into the catchers mitt and you canhear the yahoos in the stands and Keith and Gary are muffled. Can't put onthe radio feed because it's six seconds behind SNY.While I'm asking for cell numbers, anyone have Julies?Reyes fouled one of his hoof earlier and was writhing in pain and actually satdown but managed to walk it off and is still in the game.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Nice job by the Parker. Maybe this can go down under the chapter. "Poor Communication with Oriental Mets."Bazooka Joe slinging 'em now.
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Screw Park. The only thing Willie might have done wrong is not clue Parkin that they'll be using a lot of pitchers today (and maybe that's Rick's jobanyway) if in fact that was the initial plan going in if I heard them right.
Guest iramets Guests Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 A little speculation on WFAN just now that they may have dealt Park during the game.
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Even better. They haven't mentioined it on tv yet.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 In the other game Maine has given up 12 hits in five innings...tied at four I think.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 fortunately his rotation spot should be secure.i hope they dealt park.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 The reason for taking Park out is Willie plans on pitching him in a few days to see how he responds on short rest...
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Unspecified bullpen duty. The guys on tv said Pelfrey seems to be the #5.They also confirmed that Park wasn't told about his short start or the plansfor him to go again on Monday.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Yes,I believe that's what Gary reported.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Yup, right here. "Poor Communication with Oriental Mets." Page 179.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Report from the "other game":Mets brought their B squad to Jupiter vs. the Marlins:Milledge RFNewhan 3BJohnson CFCastro CCarp 1BChip Ambres LFGotay 2BA Hernandez SSMaine P1. It's a small sample size, but I don't think we *ever* want to see David Newhan playing at third base. He didn't look good again (started yesterday) there, even after extra fielding practice this morning.2. Maine got hit pretty hard -- and the Marlins had only two* regulars in the lineup (Hanley Ramirez and Miguel Cabrera). 5.2 IP, 12H, 1 BB, 5K, 4 ER -- not pretty.*Aaron Boone was 3-4 with 3 RBI -- I don't know if he's competing with Jacobs for the first base spot or has maybe already won the job.3. Ben Johnson is pretty fast. It wasn't just hustle-to-win-a-job -- which he did, very well, beating it down the line hard even on a routine ground ball -- but looked good stealing a base too.4. Two outfield assists for Chip Ambres, including an impressive throw to the plate to nail the trail runner (from 2nd) on a single.5. Milledge was 2-3 but got nailed in the side by a nasty Felix Rodriguez (a setup man for the Marlins this year, probably) pitch. Lastings also had an unfortunate GIDP to end the game.6. Matt Lindstrom, now with the Marlins, had huge control problems and nearly blew the game for the Marlins, walking the first two batters in the top of the 9th with a two-run lead.7. David Newhan is too much of a free swinger. Somebody needs to tell him to take some damn pitches.Final: Marlins 6, Mets 5.Bonus:Adding to our list from yesterday:Chan Ho Park -- Silver Dodge Durango.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 I was at the game today. We were going to attend the game aginst the Marlins -- my parents live in Jupiter -- but it was SRO when we went to buy tix around 11.So we sped up to St. Lucie, and good thing, too. All the regulars played except Delgado, of course. I never get to see them in person, so this was my first chance to see Wright and Reyes in person.Stunned that they could only muster 1 hit off the Baltimore B team until the seventh. But I like the changes to the ballpark.Park looked OK, Joe Smith got his outs, but they were not easy ones.
