Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Inherited Jeromy Burnitz's dieignated sideburn-wearing, big-chin guy slot on the roster.Upon hearing that he was the best part of the package for Roberto Alomar, M&MD challenged the Mets to show some guts and bring him up, not realizing that being the best player in the Alomar deal didn't mean the Mets or the Sox considered him some kind of uberprospect.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Was drafted right behind Kazmir much to the delight of Billy Beane as it allowed him to take Nick Swisher.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 He signed D-Dad's banner before the game that marked Piazza's return to Shea (which was also MK's birthday) -He also came to the Mets from the White Sox as part of the Robbie Alomar trade (a trade that broke MK's heart at the time, although I think he's over it now).

Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Career suggests left-handed closers are silly things to gather in, Franco & Wagner notwithstanding.Remarkably less stylish than the Hraboskyesque descriptions accompanying his arrival in the organization.First Met to wear 22 since Al Leiter.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 After being talked about as something of a steal for Alomar (after Alomar stole from us), he fell off the face of the Met earth. Wore a number in the 90s, without a name, in a televised spring training game in 2005. To his credit he worked his way back up.Saw his first MLB appearance at RFK, making him a personal bookend of sorts to Keith Miller whose first game I saw at Olympic Stadium when the Nats were the 'Spos. After that, it's all kind of a blur of demotions and recalls.
