Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Honestly, I'm going to bed. But in my head, I'm going to find the computer that that thing is housed in and mash it with my Hillerich & Bradsby.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 i hate that thing only because it seemedto replace the overhead camera for determining if a pitch was inside/outside, and i'd rather just see the pitch itself.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Excellent point. It's still Bill Webb, but FOX or MLB or Busch is apparently limiting his options.Credit Where It's Due Department: The Super-Slo-Mo of pitchers' mechanics (particularly with Chad Bradford) are fascinating.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 I'm surprised FOX has not yet tried putting a camera on the umps helmet...at least they don't use a glow trail on the ball like they did when they covered hockey.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Edgy, since you brought up the use of this graphic, I have a question.I was at last Friday night's game. I sat at field level, so I could tell which pitches were high or low. (and the ump called some VERY low strikes against the Mets.)But I couldn't judge inside or outside pitches. By how much was Maine missing the plate? Was he getting squeezed by the ump or were his pitches far off the plate?Later
Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 They had a great shot of Green's double hitting the line.
