Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 It's the Cardinals who should be singing that song.

smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Except that the Mets have been assured for a long time that they'll be playing next week. The Cardinals...Presumably the Mets still know where the 'on' switch is. I don't expect them to play like this next week.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Nothing's slipping or sliding away from the Mets.Their postseason berth is secure.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Tuesday or Wednesday. Depends on whether or not the Phillies win the Card.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 In fact, the sooner the Phillies clinch or are eliminated, the sooner we'll know the Mets schedule. The Phillies' tragic number is 5.
Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 September is a lovely month for a vactaion.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Yancey - "Nothing's slipping or sliding away from the Mets."Unless of course you count offensive run production, quality starts, and victories. Their place in the playoffs may be securre, but their advancement certainly isn't. I, personally, would feel much better going into the playoffs if the team would actually start to hit and score a few runs. It wouldn't hurt if Pedro, Glavine, and the rest of the rotation could turn in some strong starting efforts. Hopefully, the Mets can find their "on switch", but their poor play of late is doing nothing to bolster my confidence.
Guest cooby Guests Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I am sure, as astounded as we feel, that they must be absolutely flummoxed
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Can we take some solace on the fact that this is EXACTLY what the 2000 World Champion MFY did the last month of their regular season?
Guest cooby Guests Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I'm not giving up hope! They'll turn it around!!! (please, please, please)
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I'll take that solace perhaps shortly after the Mets pennant is secured and the World Series berth established.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I never take solace form the Mother fucking yankees......is it too late to make some trades?
