All I heard was blah,blah,blah--like when an adult talks on Peanuts)
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Quality starts ran off with McCarver's mother when he was little, so they're a sensitive topic.

Guest GYC Guests Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Great job by El Duque today after that bad 1st inning.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Damn...Ducky!7IP, 4H, 3ER, 2BB, 8K is is pretty good. If he's the worst we have...not much to complain about today.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 El Duque gets Orlando Palmiero to retire the side and end is outing. Palmiero is familiar to me soley because he was my weak hitting bench player for the World Champion Twins on Major League Baseball featuring Ken Griffey Jr.That's the good stuff.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Hernandez thru 7 and looking good.Has the Asstros swingin at his pitches and poppin up.The way he has pitched so far for the Mets, I didnt expect him to recover from his first inning jitters. But he has, and this is a really good sign for the long haul.Enuff of this he's either on his game or off his game stuff. Many starting pitchers take an inning to settle in all the time. And ElDouque will make way for Sanchez as Chavez comes out to PH.Good job ElDuke.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Meatloaf has shown up at all sorts of ballparks this week - it was on the MLB.com site. He's a big baseball fan, so that's cool.Let him sing the National Anthem or throw out some ceremonial first pitches - that's totally appropriate. Even a story during the pregame show would have been fine. But it's ridiculously inappropriate to interrupt a game in progress for this nonsense.

Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 I will concede that the footage of Reyes back in the Futures Game was cool.Onto the 8th - 4-3 Mets.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Reyes is just too anxious lately. Swingin over crap.He needs to crack a triple - that snap him out of it.Not this time tho-he strikes out.

Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 How much talk about the MFYs and A-Rod do we need to endure?
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 C'mon...it's FOX.Where would they be with out rehashing the same old stories for uninformed fans?
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Alex Rodriguez invented the win share, that rat bastard.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 No way did Beltraan swing at that. That was a check swing. That 3rd base ump eats dooky.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Qualls comes in to pitch to Delgado.I hate seeing guys named Qualls at Shea.
Guest Iubitul Guests Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 I'm relieved to see Jared - at least he won't talk about the MFY's....
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Oops - I missed a pitching change.Qualls is out - Miller is pitching to Delgado with one on and one out in the 8th.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 ="TransMonk"]Hehe...He said dooky.Dont laugh,.... dookys a poor wittle wabbitt.....I got pics for everything,lol.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Val singles-Delgado with a nice line single to right center puts runners on the corners for Cliff.1 out in the 8th.
