Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 I just finished the weekly archiving (which I do on Tuesdays now instead of Thursday incidentally) and we have a fresh crop of classic threads in the Featured Archives forum.Just as a refresher, once a week I select the best threads from The Baseball Forum and the Non-Baseball Forum and send them to The Featured Archives Forum and the NBF Classics Forum respectively. Other threads that have been inactive for 30 days are sent offsite to the Archives at the Crane Pool Companion. The following fora are also archive on the basis of threads inactive for 45 days:Bitch to the AdminsRed Light ForumMusic ArchivesGame RecountsKnow Thy EnemyPlayer of the GameI've been seeing a lot of comments akin to "I can't find this thread" or "why was this archived?" so I just want to reiterate a few things:1) We can't keep everything on this phpBB forum. When the database files get too large things slow down and KC & Yanct get unnerved. That we can send threads to the Cranepool Companion Archives is a big plus because otherwise those threads would be gone permanently.2) I use my best judgement in selecting threads for Featured Archives & NBF Classics. If you think I'm missing things you can always PM me or bump a thread and I will move that thread too.3) Threads are archived based on activity. The best way to avoid having your favorite thread archived is keeping active (that is not letting it go 30 days without a reply). If you can't think of anything to say but feel you might want the thread in the future you may always post "bump".Thanks.
