Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2006 Author Posted June 8, 2006 11 in a row retired by El Duque. Only 66 pitches through 6 innings. Very nice so far.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2006 Author Posted June 8, 2006 I'm pretty sure 13 pitches is the record for a Mets plate appearance this season. Nicely done, the K notwithstanding, for El Duque.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 El Duque fanned by Vargas on a 13-pitch at-bat.My guess is that Vargas is on about 468 pitches tonight. He's only on 102.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Tony Clark is literally a gray beard these days.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2006 Author Posted June 8, 2006 LoDuca throws out Gonzalez stealing. Why are you stealing while down 5?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Gonzalez appears to be literally not thinking.

Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Valentin's RBI makes it 6-0.Bases are still loaded, nobody out.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Endy drives in Delgado.Bases STILL loaded, nobody out.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 And there are no outs with the bases loaded.Chavez with an RBI baseknock!And-bases still loaded with no out for the rook.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Lastings lines out. El Duque bats for himself.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Milledge hits it so hard it becomes an automated out.And ElDuke,...well,...he dont have to hit tonight. He Ks.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Reyes grounds out to end the inning.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Can we make BOB, now Chase Field, the Mets' new home park?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 I didn't realize (until just now) that the 'Chase' in Chase field is the same as Chase Manhattan. did they just drop the 'Manhattan' part so as to not seem out of place? Also, anyone notice the 'Snake death rattle' they pipe in when their pitcher first gets two strikes on a batter? Don't think it's worked yet tonight.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Didn't notice the rattle. Hernandez at 99 pitches through eight. I'm sure hoping Willie sends him back out.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Ah hell, throw El Ducky out there for the 9th too. It's not like we're looking to save his arm for future years or anything!

Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Going for his 3rd career shutout.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 ewww--lead off double.Only the Dbacks 3rd hit.Feliciano will get warm again, but El Duque will rock on.Gets a ground out, and the runner moves to third. The shutout would be nice.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 He loses the shutout as Beltran corrals that deep fly, and Councell tags.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Oh, well.Great game, except for that 404 foot flyout.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Still, even tho he lost the shutout-MASTERFUL!
