You don't like Hernandez or something? What's your point?

I used to have a geeky student named Jason Bergman. He tried to write a paper for me on comic books. Then he married and impregnated another one of my students. Now, apparently he's pitching for the Nats.

With his call up last season and his pathetic start this season, it appears that Anderson Hernandez may be the second base version of Rey 0rdonez.

Career OPS down to .098.

Lined out to an outfielder this time though.

If nothing else, he's buying Matsui --- upon the latter's return --- a probationary period (length, yet to be determined) from the bloodlust of the yahoos.

Hernandez is buying Matsui nothing.

I guarantee that Matsui will get booed when he gets announced his first game back.

Fans can be cruel and stupid.

Speaking of which, Matsui is eligible to come of the DL in the next few days. Not sure if he will but what's the roster move when he does?

Chavez isn't doing much - and I don't see much chance where he will
Or it might be Diaz based on the theory that he needs ABs

Gotta be Hernadez to Norfolk, no?

I think there's no harm in farming out Hernandez until he can get his legs back under him. If Matsui is starting, you don't want Andy taking an .024 career batting average to the bench.

at his age i see no reason for hernandez to ride the pine, if/when he's not the starter or at least platooning in the majors i'd send him down.

Matsui is going to need some time to rehab and get into game shape down in Florida and then get a few games in at Norfolk to get used to the speed of the game again. Or at least that will be the explanation of why he won't sniff Shea until May in hopes that Hernandez gets a hit or two to justify burying Matsui.

Wait. I've been let to believe the Mets spin machine was looking for ways to justify burying Hernandez (and co.) behind Matsui. It's been the other way around all along?
