soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Okay - who's going?Raise your hands.I'll be there.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 I'll be watching the ESPN telecast.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 My 2006 debut will be at the Bobby on April 12th. Who's pitching?
Guest sharpie Guests Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 I'll be here. At work. Ducking out at lunch to catch a few innings while downing a sandwich or something.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 The Diamond Knight family will be at Shea on Monday

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Excellent. I'll be one of the two obnoxious guys in Section 471, Row 4, Seats 6 and 7. Go, Pedro.
Guest KC Guests Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 We're going - if anyone is meeting up post some coordinates.
Guest cooby Guests Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 I have been very kindly invited by Scarlet, and I hope to be there if a whole bunch of things come together for me.
Guest KC Guests Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Hope it's not many bunches (is that a word?) - it would fun to see you.
Guest Iubitul Guests Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Oh sure - I miss a chance to meet Cooby because I'm having a 6-foot long cable stuck up my butt....
Guest Iubitul Guests Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 It just dawned on me that my little joke may get a few peeps worried...It's no big deal - I'm at the age where I have to start having these things done, because my dad has had a few polyps removed in the past - they always came back negative - so it's no big deal.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Any rational being would have rescheduled the medical appointment.

Guest cooby Guests Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Food! Right!I gotta think of something to bring if I'm coming...

Well excuuuuuse me. Elitist bastard.Pre-paid parking is THE way to go. Been doing it for years. Zip in, zip out. You are moving up in the world my friend. You're allowed to tailgate in the pre-paid lot. In fact its probably easier because its not as crowded.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 How does that pre-paid parking thing work?Last time I went to Shea I took the train so I could avoid the parking lot, but it was a long journey by train. NJ Transit, subway, missed connections, etc.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 i'm planning on not planning. I'll see how i feel on Monday. I'll come in to work, and if the weather is decent, and my schedule is flexible, I'll just train it to Shea and see what I can scalp. I should be able to find a single ticket, dontcha think?if i do get out there, I'll look for youse guys... the Chapsfolk, and the Cartersians, and the Yancepators.

NJ Transit, subway, missed connections, etc.Pre-paid parking comes with certain season ticket packages and lots of times if you buy expensive seats in advance, parking is included.I like it cause I park right near the exit and I'm outta there and on the highway in no time no matter how crowded the lot is.
Sandgnat Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Flying up from Savannah. Upper deck 4th row behind home plate. 850 miles can't stop the opening day tradition.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 So you can't do pre-paid parking on a single-game ticket?Too bad. I was briefly intrigued. Thanks for the info.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2006 Author Posted March 31, 2006 You want hard core? This will be (I think) my 25th consecutive Opening Day attended. I'll give you that I never had to fly in for it and the farthest I've to travel was from Syracuse, but still.Best Opening Day memory for me was Carter's game winning ding-dong in the 10th off Neil Allen in '85 in the BITTER FREAKIN' COLD!Ordonez debut when he threw the runner out at the plate from his knees from short left field was pretty cool too.
