Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Rain Delay Theater just showed Billy Wagner helping to deliver a baby Alpalca, and now they've moved on to the Mets Kids Clubhouse show. Why do the Marlins need a spring training facility in Jupiter? What's wrong with their stadium in Miami?
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I think I saw Soup's kid being interviewed about getting autographs in St. Lucie!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 To hear MLB talk, what isn't?I'm watching interviews with young Marlin studlies. Dontrelle Willis seems smart and enthusiastic about what could be a trying year. Miggy seems mopey and grievous.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 The game is rained out, so they're showing the game from Sept. 17, 1986! The clincher!
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Game cancelled, SNY showing Mets classics, Mets V Cubs from September 1986.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Not just any game. This was the division clincher.I was there for the game - It'll be fun watching it on tv almost 20 years later It's WOR footage!

Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 It's so nice hearing Ralph Kiner, back when he was still sharp. So different from how he has stumbled in recent years.
Guest mlbaseballtalk Guests Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 DIRECTV YA BETTER HURRY THE DAMN HELL UP AND GET SNY ON MY TV SET!Classic Mets good,Endless loops of Yankees Classics, Bad, especially that October night at Shea in 2000.DAMN THAT DEREK JETER, DAMN HIM STRAIGHT TO HELL!

So different from how he has stumbled in recent years. So true, I only really know him form recent years, pretty cool booth of announcers,, Kiner, McCarver,Steve Zabriskie and I forget the 4th guy.
Lundy Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 We're now looking at the tail end of Dennis Eckersley's starting career.
Lundy Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Rusty Staub is the fourth guy. He'll be there in the later innings.
Guest The Brooklyn Bum Guests Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 This is awesomeness incarnate.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 While this is all well and good, I'd like to pitch a show to MTV where a couple of regular-guy Met fans sit around and comment, Mystery Science Theater like, while watching some randomly-chosen Met game from the past (perhaps they choose a game from a barrell). Perhaps they have to guess the year and stuff, they don;t know who wins, etc etc etc....Possible series titles:"Random Crappy Met Game" "Metstery Science Theater 3000" "Meaningless Games to Remember"
Guest cooby Guests Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 One could have a Mr Met head silhouette!
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 How about "Mets Meltdowns to Remember" or " Oh so close no-hitters"
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Our boy Steve Z could bring the volume, couldn't he?

What's wrong with their stadium in Miami? It's Fugly. It's built for football and named for a footbal team. It's not really in Miami. It will be depressingly empty during the regular seasons because of the fire sale, why not play in a smaller venue for spring training?

When, where, what? They had a segment where they asked kids what their strategies were for getting autographs. The kid I thought was cup-o-soup said that he didn't really have any strategy. The new episode of the Mets Kid Clubhouse debuts tomorrow. Thus, if you see the show on today's program guide, tape it.
Guest cooby Guests Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Way to keep the secret safe, Cup a Soup!
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 That was him. That was the question he asked and after trying to figure out what his strategy was - that was his answer.Thanks.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 You're welcome. I bet he'll be a staple of Rain Delay Theater for years to come
