Guest ABG Guests Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/video/2006/03/14/VI2006031401066.htmlThe proposed design for the new DC ballpark came out yesterday (video above). I like it--it's not red brick retro, more in keeping with some of the architecture of DC. To me, it looks a lot like the Thurgood Marshall Judiciary building, which is just to your left if you walk out the front of Union Station.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Glass, steeel and poured concrete. How DC.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 I'm glad they're not going retro. The building looks nice enough from the outside; a little plain on the inside.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 If Edgy builds it, they will come. From architectural drawings I've seen, here's my prediction (depending on how close to actual those drawings are): High batting averages, because of the very small foul territory - the anti-Oakland. Power hitters will have to pull the ball to get homers - that centerfield fence looks like its in Maryland. Later
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 I like the location. Getting to and from RFK last summer was unduly difficult (could the signage have been any worse? Sheesh....)When are they estimating that the new stadium will be open for business?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 The music promises an attack by Norman Bates.I say it's fugly.
Guest cleonjones11 Guests Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Edgy is out standing in his field
