Ticket Question

My MFY-fan friend bought some tickets today for the Subway Series at Shea, and had a question that I didn't know the answer to off the top of my head.

What is the difference between Loge Reserved "BR" level and standard Loge Reserved?

I think BR is "back rows." Seats where the overhang of the Mezzanine level blocks the view of the sky.

Great seats on a rainy day. I think Widey and I sat there on a rainy game once last year, and were quite happy the overhang was there.

The best seats are under the overhang but not too far back. When I had a partial season ticket plan in the 1980's that's where I sat. Seats two rows in front of me got rained on, but I stayed dry. And I was able to see the whole sky.

I used to know which rows were best for this, but I've long since forgotten.

The back rows of the mezzanine aren't really suitable for viewing a baseball
game as you can't see the ball when it's hit in the air 'cause you're in a cave.

Sorry, but the loge back rows absolutely suck, especially if you're up the lines: You'll miss one outfielder completely, lose the ball in the air, hurt your neck. But I'm glad they sold those to a MFY fan.

I just got back from Shea. Built my own "7-pack" so I can stick it to the Man.

Got there earlier than last year, dressed warmer and the line moved faster -- arrived a little after 8 and had my tix a little after 11. Said hi to Tim Tuefel and to Sid. Didn't see Darling, Mex or Mookie.

Hit the Assi Superstore afterward and loaded up with a 20-lb. sack of Jasmin rice.

On the contrary, the back rows are a perfect place to stick a Yankees fan. Please tell your friend and all other yankee fans to sit there.

I saw a 88 playoff game from these seats, last row, and they were AWFUL and it was FREEZING with some kind of wind going up our backs.
Could only see a slice of the field.
Enough, unfortunately, to see Kirk Gibson make his floppy not quite diving catch.>:(

Yeah, they're pretty bad. Didn't mean to suggest otherwise.

It's the seats just under the lip of the overhang, as Yancy says, that are pretty damned fabulous when the rain comes.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, I will be sitting in them with the MFY fan friend, and I'm hoping I won't miss too much. I'll be in Row C I think, which would indicate to me it's not too far back.

In case you haven't guessed Row C is the third row back from the main aisle. There are also "boxes" forward of that so in reality you are the 9th row.

Well, given that I probably would not have gone to Shea this year without these tickets, I can't complain (they're free).

I was just curious, I didn't know about the specific designation.

that site chart is kool, but very charitable when it comes to specific views. Esp from those seat I was referring to.
Hey ABG, if its not a cold day and you dont mind not seeing fly balls as they travel thru the air these arent the worst.....what am i saying.

these are the worst seats in the house, lol.

Still, like u say, id take em to see the Mets, and I have.
A Met game is a Met game.
I watched games from the subway platform outside, back in the day.

I meant the back seats of the loge in my post the other day, although the
back of mezz kinda sucks too.

yeah but theres NO comparison, back row mezz is an inconvenience, back row loge is a reason to stay home.
